The Amazfit Bip 6 is now receiving a new firmware update. Better sleep tracking, Stryd support, and BioCharge ready are all included in version 3.8.0.1, which comes in a 13.67MB package.

This comes right after the Active 2 received a very identical update yesterday. Zepp Health is clearly coordinating feature upgrades across its most recent line of watches, as evidenced by the roughly identical core enhancements. Although the Bip 6 is priced differently, consumers are receiving a lovely little end-of-year present.

    BioCharge lands on Bip 6

The main attraction is BioCharge, which takes the place of the previous Readiness score. It’s a more comprehensive approach to everyday recuperation that takes stress, activity, sleep, and heart rate variability into account. In the Zepp Health app, the figure comes with a series of insights that emphasize patterns and identify factors influencing your recuperation.

Additionally, BioCharge unlocks readiness data while you’re exercising, giving you a real-time picture of your system’s performance. These days, it’s more than simply an overnight metric.

Other Amazfit watches already have this feature. Zepp Health appears to be increasingly replacing the previous Readiness score across the board. which is encouraging.

    Training Peaks and Intervals.icu integration

Support for syncing third-party organized exercise programs is also introduced in this release. Training Peaks and Intervals are the source of these. Two of the most popular platforms for personalized endurance training are icu. Once connected, you may send prearranged exercises straight to the Bip 6 and monitor them from your wrist.

Additionally, the Sleep Score has been adjusted. According to Zepp Health, the underlying algorithm has been improved for increased precision. Although no details were provided, improvements such as this frequently involve backend modifications that improve the detection of mild sleep transitions and wake periods.

Lastly, users can now initiate a shortcut by double-pressing the lower side button. The complete change-log is available here.

  • Xiaomi Watch 5 EMG technology could change health monitoring

Xiaomi Watch 5 EMG technology could change health monitoring

Although the Xiaomi Watch 5 appears to be a typical wearable, its EMG monitoring technology has taken everyone by surprise. It is the first wrist device in history that incorporate an EMG health sensor.

Numerous health aspects are supported by a large number of smartwatches on the market. One of these is the ECG measurement, which monitors your heart rate and provides you with pertinent health information along with suggested activities and routines.

    Xiaomi Watch 5 EMG technology

Despite this, the Xiaomi Watch 5 is the first wearable with an EMG sensor. It is a gesture-based technology that provides a more precise definition of your health.

EMG stands for electromyographic signal sensor. It evaluates the health of skeletal muscles and the motor neurons that control them. It’s a test that uses tiny needles to record electrical signals when the muscle rests or contracts.

Looks like Xiaomi has brought this technology to its smartwatch in the form of gesture-based measurement. It is a gesture recognition tech based on the deep fusion of three major sensors.

Xiaomi Watch 5 EMG health sensor

To put it simply, the EMG health sensor can distinguish between various finger and hand movements as well as analyze and evaluate hand muscle activity.

Xiaomi Watch 5 EMG technology fingers gesture

The particular technology is able to identify fine motions by capturing the faint electromyographic signal of the hand’s small muscle groups. It also facilitates creating fist movements, rubbing twice, and pinching once or twice.

How does it operate? Pinching your fingers once or twice can allow you to keep an eye on your muscles. Additionally, you can handle this specific health sensor by gently rubbing with both fingertips.

With its latest product, Xiaomi has significantly advanced the smartwatch health market. It would be interesting to observe what other Chinese companies do to reach this caliber.
